My first semester at UC Berkeley is drawing to a close. I can't believe how fast it went. o.O It's Thanksgiving this week but I can't enjoy it because I have to write a research paper all weekend for my Asian American Studies 20A class. Damn you procrastination...
Anyways, my schedule for the spring semester has been finalized! Here are the courses I will be taking:
English 45A: Literature in English Through Milton This is like Medieval Literature. I have to read
Paradise Lost. >< Let's see how long I can last...
Asian American Studies 20B: Introduction to Contemporary Issues in Asian American Communities The same professor I had for AAS20A is teaching this course next semester. ^^ I was very happy when I heard. This is also my earliest class, 9:30 a.m. -_- But Asian Americans are worth it.
South Asian C114: Tibetan Buddhism Originally I wanted to take a Theravada Buddhism course but they're not offering it this semester. And then I read the description for this class and I fell in love:
"This course is a broad introduction to the history, doctrine, and culture of the Buddhism of Tibet. We will begin with the introduction of Buddhism to Tibet in the eighth century and move on to the evolution of the major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhist literature, ritual and monastic practice, the place of Buddhism in Tibetan political history, and the contemporary situation of Tibetan Buddhism both inside and outside of Tibet." Beautiful!
Letters and Science C30U: Americans and the Global Forest This is a life science but it's not that scary because it's a discovery science course and discovery science courses at Berkeley were made for people who are not majoring in science but need to fulfill their life science breadth requirement, like me! We'll be studying trees, forests, and what consumers do to our global forest! Hip hip hooray!
In total I have
16 units! A lot, I know. But I want to challenge myself next semester and see if I can handle a butt-load of work. And if things get too hard, I can always switch South Asian and Letters and Science to Pass/No Pass, that way my GPA won't be affected if I end up getting a really horrible grade. But for now, I signed up for all my classes with letter grading. I already can't wait for the spring semester to start. Hopefully these classes aren't as boring as the ones I have now.

Darth Vader: You have no idea the power of the dark side
Me: You have no idea what that button on your chest does
The best thing about that title is getting to use it in sentences. x3
